Students & Parents Say It Best!

"Amazing! As a 40-year old mother of three who just wanted to dust off her guitar....the comraderie and encouragement of the Sreetwise crew has been nothing short of amazing! My instructors, Dale and Forrest, are both very knowledgeable and professional.  In six short weeks I've joined a Streetwise band and played my first gig. If you want to rock...you've found the right place!"  Harrella Whitehead, Ballantyne, September 2009

“They run a business like we're family. When my son had to miss a lesson this summer Brent quickly looked for an alternate day for him to make it up.  The other studio just told me too bad sorry no refunds or exchanges.  Glad your in the neighborhood." August 2009

"Dale is awesome with kids, and I love seeing my kids excited to go to their lessons. :)  Very talented instructors and professional family-friendly environment."  August 2009

Karl has a well rounded education and comes from a long line of musician’s family and friend’s right out of Boston Massachusetts. Inspired and connected to some of the top bands ever out of Boston such as Areosmith,The Cars,Boston,Donna Summer,Extreme and many more which all started as Garage Bands and made it to the top. This place is amazing! Best music instruction by far...

Hearing about the concept of this business intrigued me to stay an entire day at the rock camps and see how the kids responded to this very cool Tremont Hall concert build-up process. Karl is a very talented musician himself and attempts to reach out to these students and stimulates his enthusiasm into their styles and also at the same time letting them express themselves. That is quite a balance that not just anyone can pull together. His students are not just local to the Indian Trail area by any means, they stretch far into the out-skirts of the area with some driving more than an hour to attend his unique style of instruction. Should your child or even yourself be interested in music and self-expression check it out and give it a try, I truly trust, you will not be disappointed. Rock on Karl!

The Coolest Looking School In Town!

    August 19, 2008

I saw Streetwise on Fox News Rising this morning.  I went over to the school and loved the atmosphere, and signed up for lessons.  Karl the owner took a lot time to make me feel welcome.  He had an open slot and I took a lesson that day. It felt great to pick up my guitar again..the lesson was great.

streetwise music is the best music instruction by far in the charlotte area. My kids have taken lessons at many places and streetwise feels like home. Karl Mokal cares about these kids, he is very encouraging and really trys to get to know them. My son got a chance to play on stage in a real club at Tremont Music Hall for the first time this weekend and felt like a real rock star. All of his instructors are great. So it doesn’t matter who you get for a teacher you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend Streetwise Music

    my experience with streetwise...

My 15 yr old daughter was struggling with things 15 yr old girls do...add to that a divorce, loss of a couple family members and a good friend, and you have a 15 yr old with more than she can handle. She needed an outlet, she loves music and has wanted to play the guitar. Streetwise, and the staff, and especially Karl, have provided that outlet. She tells me she has a sense of peace when she leaves her music lesson. Karl is teaching her, and has taken the time to find her love of words, and poems. he uses that in teaching her to express herself. Those things you don't learn at a college or other training venue.. those things come from a desire to connect with young people and help them find their own way.

Thanks Karl, for making my daughter smile........

Streetwise offers more than just boring LESSONS, kids love it.

Streetwise is the best place for your kids to get music instruction. Karl and his staff are definitely talented and are really great with the kids. They are fathers themselves and seem to have a knack for understanding the kids and what motivates them. They have done a fine job of networking the students with each other for practice support and camaraderie, as well as fun. It’s nice to see kids of all different styles and levels working together with the Rock Camps and seeing them on stage performing which is a HUGE morale booster for the students. Students at ALL playing levels get up on stage because they know they have the support of their fellow students and instructors. They all become friends. The format has really put the kids at ease and really helps especially with the shy kids. It’s great for their confidence. Not everyone is an "athlete". It’s the best extra-curricular time my kids could be spending. And know that the crew at Streetwise may be long haired rockers but they are good people with good values and take what they do seriously.

I really have nothing bad to say about them. I like the friends my kids have met there and the joy and confidence they get. I love seeing their concerts and watching the other students excel as well.

As for cost, consider Rock Camps... for the money, you get more instruction time than the 1/2 hour lessons and after making a band, learning songs, get to play at live venues around Charlotte (all age appropriate). Everyone needs those one-on-one 1/2 hour sessions to lay the groundwork. Students seem to go back and forth between camps and one on one. You'll be amazed at how the kids (& adults) take off after learning the basics. For how much I was paying in Soccer fees, equip. etc, and music instruction is painless and will stick with them forever. I tell my sons, so, it'll be a plus with the girls one day. : ) Good grief, they're already thanking me.

I have shopped everywhere for music instruction. Either the teachers never showed up for our lessons or they would quit on us.

I did not like music and arts, Music go round, music 49, a music store as well as some others I have had the same experience at these locations. The instructors just did not care. I was even billed at music go round and I never took a lesson.

Karl and his staff are the best around.  Our family and friends just love the guys and gals at streetwise.

As a parent of three Christian boys I highly recommend them for music instruction.

    Thanks

    Andy
